well, i am finally at peace. we have known the source code has been stolen by an opportunist fuck a whole month ago when one of our developers accidentally ran some malware on his commercial workstation. we known the individual has stolen our source code but we were unsure what to do since he didn't identify itself nor planned to do anything with it.
lately, he has attempted to use his ownership of the source code as leverage, something that evidently failed. rather than have him leak the source code with malware and unsafe shit within, we decided to do it ourselves so we can have some proper closure.
i was myself incredibly stressed over this, because while a source release doesn't mean the end, it can go terribly wrong if not done properly.
the guy behind the whole thing is immature, childish and irresponsible. i can understand the exciting feeling of stumbling upon a goldmine of hacking information, but i cannot understand using it for devilish purposes. he could have gladly kept it to himself and perhaps came into proper communication with us, but he refused to. his sole attempt at communication with us was a deal he wanted to do, but he didn't follow through.
